Difference between BIP32 BIP39 BIP44

BIP stands for Bitcoin Improvement Proposals, which are documents that propose new features or improvements for Bitcoin. They can be proposed by anyone and are published on bitcoin/bips after review. The relationship between BIP and Bitcoin is like RFC to the Internet.
Among them, BIP32, BIP39, and BIP44 together define the currently widely used HD Wallet, including its design motivation and concepts, implementation methods, examples, etc.
BIP32: Defines Hierarchical Deterministic wallet (abbreviated as "HD Wallet"), a system that can generate a tree structure from a single seed to store multiple sets of keypairs (private and public keys). The benefits are convenient backup, transfer to other compatible devices (because they all only need the seed), and hierarchical permission control, etc.

BIP44: Based on the BIP32 system, it gives special meaning to each layer in the tree structure. And coin_type' is used to represent different currencies, for example, Bitcoin is 0', Ethereum is 60'.


Why should I trust you
